The unique combination of wetland flora, including water immortelle and manac palm, creates a honey that's as powerful as it is distinctive.

## Questions about Biche honey

### What are the traditional medicinal uses of Biche honey?

Biche Dark Medicinal comes from the wetland ecosystems bordering the Nariva Swamp, where bees forage on water immortelle, palm, and manac. For generations, Trinidadians have used this honey for respiratory ailments, sore throats, and digestive issues. Its thick, pungent character indicates high enzyme concentration. We recommend taking a spoonful straight or dissolved in warm (not hot) water.

### What makes raw honey different from commercial honey?

HerbWai honey is never heated above natural hive temperature (around 35°C) and never filtered beyond simple straining. This preserves propolis particles, pollen, and beneficial enzymes like diastase and invertase. Commercial honey is often heated to 70°C+ and ultra-filtered, removing these elements. Our honey may crystallize faster and appear cloudier, signs of its raw, living quality.

### How do I order Biche honey in Trinidad & Tobago?

Biche Dark Medicinal is between harvests right now. Tap "Tell me when it's back" and we'll message you on WhatsApp as soon as the next harvest is bottled. Bottles are 250 ml TT$80, 500 ml TT$150, 750 ml glass bottle TT$220, 1 litre TT$275; 500 ml is our main size.

### How long does delivery of Biche honey take in Trinidad & Tobago?

HerbWai delivers from Brasso Seco across Trinidad & Tobago once your order is confirmed on WhatsApp: usually 1-2 business days to Port of Spain and Central Trinidad, and 2-3 business days to South Trinidad. Tobago and other areas are arranged by message. Delivery is free on 4 or more bottles, and you pay cash on delivery.

### How long does raw Biche honey keep?

Raw honey doesn't spoil when it's sealed and stored at room temperature out of direct sun, so a bottle of HerbWai Biche Dark Medicinal keeps for a very long time. Over time it will thicken and crystallize, which is natural for unheated Trinidad honey: stand the bottle in warm water below 40°C to loosen it. Don't refrigerate it.

### How should I store honey for maximum benefits?

Store our honey at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Never refrigerate; cold temperatures accelerate crystallization. Raw honey never spoils; archaeologists have found 3,000-year-old honey still edible. If crystallization occurs, gently warm the jar in water below 40°C (104°F). Crystallization is natural and indicates pure, unprocessed honey.

### Can babies have Biche honey?

No. Like all honey, raw honey should not be given to infants under 12 months of age because of the risk of infant botulism. If you have diabetes, allergies or another medical condition, check with a healthcare professional first.
